What a huge honour it was to chat to Dr Peter Brukner.

Such a great first male guest to have!

Dr Brukner is a medical doctor and specialist sports and exercise medical physician.

He is also the author of the best selling book, A Fat Lot of Good.

Dr Brukner shared openly with me about his health journey, and how it pretty much saved him from getting type 2 diabetes like his father had. 

"I have no doubt if I had not changed things I would be a fully fledged diabetic the same as my father."

He shares his insight into what convinced him that we had gotten things very wrong with our nutritional advice over the last 30-40 years.

"It's not easy to admit you're wrong. I had to admit I'd given the wrong advice for 30 years. It's not a very nice feeling. But you have to look at the evidence and the evidence is there and we've been doing it wrong for a long time and the sooner we change, the better."

2. What led you down the path to change your views on nutrition?

3. Can you explain why exercise isn't as important for weight loss as we've been led to believe?

4. What do you say to people who call LCHF (low carb healthy fat) a 'fad' diet?

5. In my work with women one of the biggest barriers is often the lack of support and/or interest from their partners. Do you have any tips for women for getting their partners on board?

6. What are the risk factors for men in terms of their health?

7. I'm aware that you and Dr Paul Mason have re written the nutrition section in the Sports Medicine textbook. Can you talk about that?
