I'm back! After a bit of a break with my
interviews, I'm so pleased to be back and chatting with
Today Brodie shared her story, what has
changed for her with over 25 years experience as an exercise
physiologist, her defining moment for change, what she sees in her
practice, how diet affects brain health, the CAC scan, heart
attacks, insulin resistance and more!
Brodie is also the founder and co-ordinator
of the Shoalhaven Allied Health Network and is passionate about the
health and wellbeing of her fellow health workers.
Brodie has an interest in educating health
workers about recognising the signs and symptoms of Compassion
Fatigue so as to help our frontline workers in the health system
maintain their own health also.
Brodie became interested in brain
development and brain health after working with people and families
who may be experiencing depression. Her programs now extend into
stroke rehabilitation, programs for Parkinson' Disease and other

Board Instructor and has competed numerous courses on back care,
posture and exercise for improved lung function.

More recently Brodie has been involved in
ultra marathon kayak paddling and has completed 1000km of paddle
racing through out Australia in 2018. Brodie has been using her
paddling pursuits to demonstrate the effect of a reduced
carbohydrate diet on endurance physical performance.
Brodie is passionate about providing
participants with the latest evidence based guidelines on the most
appropriate fuels for exercising and works in the areas
pre-diabetes, weight management and exercise program development
for people who have chronic injuries.
Brodie provides exercise guidelines for
those experiencing injury who may not be able to complete long
bouts of exercise for weight management.
Brodie works alongside Accredited
Practicing Dietitians to help create a combined exercise and diet
plan using evidence based research in the area of reducing
carbohydrate consumption prior to exercising.
