Today on the podcast I chat to Marty Kendall, an engineer with a passion for optimising nutrition.

Marty's passion for nutrition began many years ago because of his love for his wife Monica, who is type 1 diabetic. They wanted to try to get Monica off the insulin rollercoaster that is so often the case with the recommended dietary guidelines for diabetics. They also wanted to start a family.

Marty is passionate about removing all the labels, and helping people to focus on getting the nutrients our bodies need to function at it's best. 

We discussed:

  • the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  • what the personal fat threshold is all about
  • nutrient needs across the spectrum from teenagers to old age
  • nutrient synergies and understanding satiety
  • all about protein, and whether we need to fear it or not
  • how to be 'anti-fragile'
