Helen was born and raised in the UK. She began her career as a Registered Nurse before changing path and pursuing a career in health services management. Helen fulfilled a variety of management and leadership roles in London teaching hospitals and in mental health services. She juggled a busy full-time career with studying and raising 3 children. She hated cooking and didn’t have much time for it, so most of the food she and her family ate was out of a packet.
By the 2006 when her husband accepted a new job and they moved to Melbourne, Australia, Helen was gaining weight, chronically tired, a suffering a variety of ailments including joint pain and chronic indigestion. Two years later, when a routine blood test revealed an unhealthy cholesterol profile, Helen was confused. What was she doing wrong and why, at the age of 44, did she feel as though she was falling apart?
A chance conversation with a friend prompted Helen to start researching alternative approaches to nutrition and health. She started to make changes, and noticed the difference immediately. She lost weight and recovered her energy. She realised that gluten was not her friend and in doing so, got rid of her indigestion and joint pain. Having reclaimed her health, Helen decided to change careers so that she could focus on helping other people to do the same. She studied to become a Certified Integrative Health Coach and went on to complete a Masters in Science in Health Coaching & Applied Nutrition.
Now Helen works with people who, like her, want to feel good in their body and have the energy to enjoy life and stay well.
